Keep your fighters in good condition. They will be still good fish..

First time when you get new fighters:
Keep them separate in a small container with 3" of conditioned water. Don't let them see other fish even though you're most excited to see them flare! Don't feed them and let them rest until tomorrow.

Stock fish:
Keep them in clay pot or 1 gallon container with conditioned water. Conditioned water with dry banana leaf if the best. Let him flare 1 minute in the morning and evening. (if he's in a transparent container.) Keep them in 70-84 F water.

Water change:
Siphon debris and water out(10%/day) and add new water. Or do a 50% change every 7 days with de-chlorinated dry benana leaf conditioned water.

Feeding:
I highly recommened mosquito larvae or bloodworms. Live food is the best. If you're feeding frozen food, make sure it is thawed and not colder than water temperature. Feed them a bit food such as 6-8 mosquito larvae in the evening. Don't over feed. Your fighter will be too fat!

After fight:
Keep him in a hospital tank. Use small container with aged Indian almond leaf water 2" high and a tea spoon of salt.. He will back to healthy within 2 days and sore will be heal within 7 days.
